I just got back from the event.
It was OK. Kind of disappointed I didn't get to drive an AMG.

The "pro" drivers in AMG's actually seemed like normal dudes.
NO oversteer at all. I think that because the surface sucks so bad, that they are leaving traction control on. Maybe you can ask them to turn it off before you start.

They only had autos to test drive and NO AMG's.
The C320 Coupe was OK with 215 HP.
The rest were slow as shit.

The surface there sucks nuts, but the course is decent.
Long straight into a right hand 180, then a right, then a 3 cone slalom, followed by a small left.
I did 6 laps in about an hour.

You can actually go whenever you want and stay as long as you want. Just tell the guy at the gate that you got a confirmation off the internet, and then after that no one sweats you at all. I wouldn't even wait for the presentation at the beginning. Just go straight thru to the back and get in line for the courses across the street.

If everyone is still going tomorrow evening, I might go again. Just to see everyone getting crazy on the course. It seemed like I was the only person driving fast today.

How did the link to the registration site in my original post disappear?

Man it sucked. I of course lost my license. So I had nothing to show as far as having a license. The cars werent anything to rave about either and you couldnt even drive the C32. But I did get a nice massage from the massage chair.

Granted, I did show up with a valid drivers license... but I didn't think it was bad.

I fell in love with the C230 Kompressor coupe. No earthshattering power, but with their optional wheel/tire upgrade, it handled wonderfully. (also drove the C320 coupe, it had the standard wheel/tire package and was not nearly as fun to drive even though it did have more power and the same suspension) Heckuva car for under $26k.

No, they didn't turn us lose in anything outrageously fast or expensive, but it was still fun to go flog someone else's car for a while... for free.

I missed it today, but I got to drive a modified M coupe at FSF instead.

Pass. I had a blast driving a Miata. I never thought I'd say that. Wow, Miata's really are great cars....it wasn't all hype. Zoom zoom.
