i drifted that thing so hard today. it was a different style one. 3 runs, each 3 laps.... very awesome with the long 2min + run times. the rain was so nice to let up for my runs, the slick surface was no match for the sohc 240.... even tho i didnt do any serious runs i beat 3 people overall... hehe. im sure people appreciate my drift just as much as the FTD run by Loren....(ok maybe a lil less?)

 

The Bettle was in Virgin class, not in street novice. He said it was his 1st autoX.

No offense to the rest of the Miata club, but Loren is just that much better of a driver.

 

Your first run was pretty impressive. Very controlled and "pretty" drifting. You got pretty scary coming toward the finish area a couple times after that. But thanks for not taking out a bunch of cones!

Honestly, I was pretty impressed with your control and the way your car allows you to drift. The fact that nobody jumped your shit in 9 laps indicates that I'm not the only one who recognized that you were mostly in control in spite of your tail-wagging.

 

He checked the "less than 6 autocrosses" rather than the "first time" box on his entry form. That puts him in Novice.

I tried to discourage first timers from running this event, he told me he'd done the Mazda Rev It Up thing. So, it may have been his first "regular autocross", but not his first experience.

Be that as it may, I was amazed with his times! Awesome.

And the kid in the Talon, too. Wow!
