Yes, "hot laps", in the rain, in the dark, with the A/C on to keep the windshield clear.

Got a problem with it? Got something more useful to say? Don't be a fuckin' twit.

(My apologies to anyone who is easily offended. Mods feel free to delete this useless tangent.)

Thanks, dude. My "zen wisdom" for this event was simply to make a concerted effort to stay in control at all times. On my final run, I was smooth and consistent and got exactly one tail wiggle in those three laps. Overdriving gets you nowhere. It's hard not to overdrive in the rain, especially on sealed asphalt.

Another thing that the results don't show. On my second and third runs, I intentionally hit the first slalom cone (it was kinda hard to get over to get around it, disrupted my line, pissed me off, had to go) several times. This being a multi-lap course (the original idea was to do FIVE or more laps), I didn't want people botching a good run for just hitting a cone or two, so we allowed "three for free". I was running clean (as were most people), so I used my free cones to my advantage.

So, the cone penalties you see in the results, every "0" could be as many as "3", and any actual penalties means that the driver hit more than 3 cones. (I don't remember anyone actually doing that... I made a pretty wide course due to the rain)

Oh, and my first run time includes a coneless spin at the end of the slalom on my last lap.

BTW, the course map is still on the website: http://www.sunridersautocross.com

I really stuck with that design as closely as possible. Lots more pointers were used (mostly rows of 4 pointers marking the outsides of wide turns) because we couldn't use a chalk line. The slalom went from a 4-cone to a 6-cone because the speed coming around the turn after the slalom was scary coming toward that light pole in the rain. The apex after the last slalom cone was also removed to effectively bring that sweeper inward away from the pole. Otherwise, WYSIWYG, and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Okay, I took the time to review your 13 previous posts, Mr. Junior Member. From that, I will concede that you are not the twit that I assumed you were from your post above. You tend to ask legitimate questions and sometimes state a short but reasonable opinion. Not what I was expecting your other posts to be given the BS above.

I apologize for taking your post the wrong way. (not sure what the right way is, but willing to let it go as I should have last night)

Now, seriously... do you have something to contribute to this thread?

Thanks for showing up and making it worth taking the time and effort it took to set up in the rain!

Default Time on Hand

Man no offense but who has the time to go read posts to see if soemone is legit. Take the comment as a joke, that what is was intended as. If something makes you mad, well just let it go. I know mofugga pretty good. He is a damn fine driver and me and him have attended many sunriders events. Actually most of the time comming in high up. Top 5 to 10. The joke is that the location is small, and its FUNNY to think of hotlapping there. GET IT! HAHAHAHAHA.

Knight Rider = Legit?

(now that, my friend, was a joke)

Okay, y'all can let this go now. I already apologized for flying off the handle. We all get pissy from time to time... some more than others.
