Complain when they catch you with your headrest flopping around, complain if you kill
yourself later because of it.

Complain about debris that might give you a puncture or cause you to slide off the track
and that the safety car is "too slow".

Why not shut up and fix the headrest?

[h=2]Hamilton fuming over Safety Car usage[/h] Sunday, 25 June 2017

ABOVE: Hamilton talks to the Safety Car driver during the red flag stoppage.
While the improbable Azerbaijan Grand Prix podium of winner Daniel Ricciardo, runner-up Valtteri Bottas (from a lap down) and third-place finisher Lance Stroll struggled to understand their turn of luck, Lewis Hamilton was irate for multiple reasons after the pole winner finished a disappointing fifth, one place behind title rival Sebastian Vettel.

Hamilton led the race until being forced to pit to replace a headrest that had come loose, but the events that preceded that setback – several Safety Car deployments for debris, which Hamilton thought had been mishandled, and then a bizarre incident with Vettel in which the Ferrari driver rear-ended Hamilton's Mercedes before a restart, and then deliberately ran into the side of the Briton's car in apparent retaliation for Hamilton slowing in front of him – left Hamilton more irate.

"It's very difficult for all of us as a team, and I think the most important thing is that I gather my thoughts and try to lead this team through the adversity. I think that's really my job," a subdued Hamilton told NBCSN's Will Buxton. "Looking at the positives, we had fantastic pace throughout the weekend. Just a little bit unfortunate as a team today but we still got a second and fifth, which is more team points than the Ferraris, which I think is a positive thing to take from it."
Beyond the collision with Vettel, Hamilton took issue with the decision to repeatedly employ a Safety Car rather than Virtual Safety Car (VSC) to deal with the debris, as well as the apparent slow speed of the Safety Car itself.
"I don't know why but it looked like the Safety Car driver was not driving flat out, which is a little bit strange," Hamilton said. "It just puts us a little bit more in harm's way when we're already struggling with these tires that they, the FIA, have asked for – we've said that they struggle to work in those temperatures, and it just makes it difficult for us.
"And then, if you see on one Safety Car restart that it's dangerous and people are shunting and then another one you see it, surely you should learn from those experiences and realize...to avoid issues [it] should have just been a VSC. But it is what it is and I'm sure they'll learn from it."
Kevin Magnussen agreed that the Safety Car had been running too slowly.
"It was very slow, said the Haas driver, who ran as high as third with the leaders' issues before being funneled back to seventh at the finish. "Compared to the time that we had for the delta of the Virtual Safety Car, the Safety Car was a lot slower than that. I think we were about 20 seconds behind our delta on the dash – which means the Safety Car basically went 20 seconds too slow."
