Default A ride?

A friend of mine from across the country does a lot of autocross and it peaked my interest. The most "exciting" thing that's ever happened in a car I was in was a peel out that almost resulted in our deaths because of the driver's stupidity. Needless to say, I haven't actually experienced anything exciting by a professional driver.

I mentioned to him that I was looking to take a guy I'm seeing on a fun date and was running short of good ideas. He suggested an awesome ride, and this website to see if any Tampa Bay drivers were interested in having two passengers!

Please let me know. I can arrange to pay you monetarily or in baked goods (I make the best chocolate chip cookies around).

Show up at most any Autocross in the area and you will find many people happy to take a passenger along for a ride. Check the events sticky above and you can find a list of the events. The ones at Brooksville will require that you register at least a week in advance, even as a spectator. Better yet, bring your car and give it a shot! There are free instructors at every event who will ride along and help you learn the ropes.Scott

Autocrosses are NOT spectator events and not intended to be "thrill rides" for the general public. If you register in your car as a DRIVER at an autocross, people are generally willing to take you along as a passenger for instructional purposes.

As an event organizer for the FAST club, I'd rather not have you there just to take rides with people on a "date". That's just not what we're about, not to mention that we're not insured for it.

But, if you want to REALLY have fun, sign up as a driver!
