Default Some spec miata fun ended by ball joint failure

Only video I have uploaded from this weekend since the sunday race is too long to upload to youtube. race starts about 4min in and goes under caution for half a lap around the 8:20 mark and resumes around 10:30. T13 of that lap is when the fun happens. Can definitely see throughout the video where a good motor would be nice.

You missed out on a fifty percent off entry for an upcoming event at the social.

Yeah I heard about that but we spent a while fixing the car and then were just too tired after that.

Bummer. What's the normal service life of a Miata control arm?

Finally got around to watching this. Makes me want to go racing again!

Glad your ball joint didn't let go at a more critical time, looks like it worked out well for you. (as in, both you and the car lived on to race another day)

They are supposed to have a very long life span. I guess the shearing of that bolt was due to it being an aftermarket bushing. Must have been put in by the previous owner of the car after a wreck... oh well, that's racing. shit happens. I guess I'm kind of glad it happened because that explained the reason the car wasn't turning right for shit. When I got back out sunday it was definitely rotating very well.
