I'm guessing the 2 lap penalty to Lightning McQueen (that I thought was trivial) turned out to be a big deal.
My favorite punishnment was the Arch Angel.
My favorite cars were the Mark 8 and Big Mercedes, Present companty excluded.
Oh, and the GT 40 car did look very fast in the video. Nice job guys.

BAM - I took about 180 pictures on my point and shoot. They are on a cd that I'll give you this weekend. And I must have taken 1,000 photos on the good camera. I Am 99% Sure I took a 3 photo sequence of Jim Passing the Black Sheep.

Loren RE the RED Mist. and me getting so angry. I was upset because after they docked me for speeding they didnt car that the car that hit me went and hid in their pit space and never got the penalty. And we coulndt say anything,, No whining. so the car that slammed me got away scott free. Now If I was driving agressivley that be one thing, but I had taken the furthest line on the turn to give this guy room and was still hit. It is now past- over.. but I know I wont give him a break if I see him next year.

Barry, it sounds you are still pissed! (I understand!!!!) After blowing the engine, I can't be 100% happy, but I still had the best time of my life behind the wheel! At least, you are talking about going back next year!
So, what was the # of the car that rear ended you? We can "Tampa gang" on him next time...
Thanks for the vid! It takes forever to get to us! I had fun trying to pass you! And the end of the vid confirmed what I had noticed in my rearview mirror,... When they threw the red flag, I came very close to get rear ended by the BMW #76...

 

So with all the talent on this list What is the opinion on the best way to fix this? the door will need to be pryed off.
The rocker panel is pushed in over 2 inches in the front. I was thinking about welding tabs to the rocker and trying to pull it out with a comealong. I just need to get it straight enough to put on another door.



We were going to change the Theme any way so non panted door and fender is no big deal.

 

I sent you a PM that suggested a grassroots fix of: 2 tabs welded to the rocker, a come along, and a jack on the inside (if needed).
A stud welder or a dent puller just won't move metal in that area.
Of course a frame machine and a new rocker would be ideal, but cost a fortune.

Or, just leave it to give the car more "character", if you can get it aligned.

I also suggested a non-painted door and fender and hood and trunk and .....

 

Barry, I would completely and totally NOT fix that dent. The car is a LeMons car now. That's it's lot in life. Accept that you'll never put the passenger seat back in the car. If the door won't open, crawl in the other side with your grinder and cut out as much structure as you can. Then weld the damn thing up from the outside!

You'll be left with a welded passenger door (who cares?), 30-40 pounds less weight, and a fantastic "character" dent.

Another perspective on your "hit and run", Barry. The course workers can't see everything. (often that works to your advantage, you get a little dent or scrape and no penalty!) Sometimes they catch a car spinning off in the corner of their eye, but don't catch what CAUSED it. What can they do? They've got to flag the car for going 4-wheels off. That's their job. It's all part of the game. Gotta take the bad with the good.
