Sebring wreck this past weekend
Good news is last I heard the driver was being kept for observation at the local hospital Saturday night but was expected to be fine. Very bad mishap on the exit side of Bishop's Bend that sent the car into the grass and ultimately the wall where it cracked the barrier in half.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

There are only about 3 turns that lead to either nothing but grass or to another portion of track.. the rest of it skirts around inside the infield and has barriers.

Hmm, I've never run there, I've had a few chances but avoided it because my car would have to be re-geared for about 195 mph and with Daytona's banking there's a high risk of tire blowouts running a downforce car for the long straights at those speeds.

Alan's car caught fire coming out of NASCAR 4. Unfortunately the pin was left in his fire bottle so the system did not go off. By the time he came to a stop the car was so engulfed in flames that his skin had started to blister under the suit, his face shield melted, and one of his gloves was completely charred. He spent a while in the hospital in the ICU and unfortunately sometime in the past few days he passed away. Very sad.

It was very sad to hear. Our, well my old, SCCA District leader sent out the news.
