Ill have to see what CFRC has to offer for the first 2 weeks in Aug. We need to go out and run our car. Maybe we can get a few of the FL Lemons teams all out there. Taj - Lorren?

We're game, we need it! We need to run the beast somewhere after replacing the bearings and repairing the head gasket. I'm sure there's all sorts of flakes we have to flush out of it.

Or heck, maybe borrow the SPJC autoX parking lot for 1/2 a day and just run circles if we can't use CFRC. Is that a viable option?

We are running a 91 Mitsubishi 3000GT themed as the 1969 Ford GT 40 driven to victory by Jacky Ickx at the "real" 24 Hours.
We are going to get the cage done next week, and it sounds like it's going to cost me at least $900! The 4 drivers feel safe enough with a 6 point, and the asking price is $150 per point. It may turn out a litttle more because we have a couple of custom requests.
Who knows the cheapest place (parking lot) to rent in a 100 miles radius from Tampa?
3-4-5? teams from Tampa
4 drivers per team, 12-20 X $25-$50 = $300/$600-$500/$1,000
August 29 or 30? As to still have one weekend to fix it before the race!
Who has the contacts?

SPC charged $100/hour to rent the pad, but it's not as easy as that. They make you jump through all kinds of hoops just to run there. But, the biggest thing is insurance. They require appropriate event insurance, as do all of the typical autocross sites. So, unless you can get one of the local autocross clubs to "sponsor" a test sessions using their insurance, you'll have a hard time. That goes for SPC, Brooksville, etc.

One place you probably could run would be East Bay Raceway oval. It's dirt, but it's a good place to test. If anything's gonna shake loose on the car, it will shake loose there! I think Jeff can get that for something like $500 for a day, they include insurance, and they pretty much don't care what we do.

Ugh, I don't trust the lemon on the East Bay track... Desoto YES, but East Bay is a bit rough for our beast in my opinion. Maybe doing laps around the Sunshine drag strip? (just thinking out loud). All we need is just a few hundred feet to go through the gears a few times once the motor is put back together.

If your car can't survive East Bay, it has no business in a LeMons race! We flogged Barry's car there a couple times, it's really not that bad as long as you have some suspension travel. Hell, I even drove a Miata out there a couple times.

Desoto isn't a bad option, either. I'm sure they'd pretty much give us free reign as long as all of our cars were caged. Don't know what it would cost... probably more than we want to spend.

True, running around EB a little will sure find all those nuts that we only 'finger tightened'.

If we can find a third team (or better yet, a 3rd and 4th), East Bay could probably be an option.

if you want.. I will help with East bay. I'll hold a rallycross the same day (or night) then I'll just charge a minor fee to the teams toi use the track while I use the field. like we did last time.

I agree eastbay was a really good bounce test. But I dont like the walls. The last thing I need to to damage the car a week before the race. I know no one plans on hitting the wall. But a broken tie rod etc could create a issue leading to hitting the wall.
Id be willing to run over to central Fl for a test even if they only have part of the track open.
