We, also -- the first group ran long because of a couple of last-minute class switches (so a few more cars to run) and a timer problem. The other two groups came in right around an hour.

running against a SCCA prepped AS S2000 on r-comps on the fronts... thankfully I was able to get moved back to my proper class and was only 0.02 from taking first.
I have a stack of e-mails.... Jack's results are moving back to C -- he'd registered thinking he was going to run street tires, then changed his mind (one of those last-minute changes in the first group).

Course was complex to walk, but easy to drive. The only difficult part was the dip in the middle of the entrance into the "skidpad".
That dip gets more exciting when it rains....

Loved that big circle. Loved the lunch.
Not thrilled with the dip, but it did add unexpected excitement.
I need a lot more seat time in the Fiero, but it has potential.

Mars, Send me a good photo and I'll pay for your lunch.

I did want to mention the drifting that was going on. Those guys are probably on TR, so I'll try to be nice, BUT here goes...
I don't mind some screwing around on a single run, but this is autocross, not drifting.
If we were at Z-hills they would have been asked to leave.
I probably need to cool off a bit, but I told another PCA driver that I don't even want to see a certain drifter car on the z-hills site. It's a safety issue and an insurance issue.
<End old man rant.>

I wouldn't have kept doing it if I didn't get the "Okay, as long as you dont ruin our event, stay on course, and dont hit cones, it looks good"
First run I was VERY serious on getting a good time, I drove it just keeping the rear end stable..Then when the circle approached I steered in just like everyone else, then as I drove the second circle I just wanted to see how easy it would be.. I'm sorry.
Many people were very amused to see the drifting; I didn't hit a single cone, stayed on course and spun out on 2 runs but didn't take much time to get off the course if I did spin out I got off the course pretty quickly, I didn't get a TERRIBLE time for over-steering most of the course.. I know this isn't drifting, its autocross

I thought it was great. You demonstrated great car control and you didn't hold up the event any more than some other regular autocrossers usually do.

Being as I'm the one that told you it was okay to hang the tail out some... I guess I should be the one to tell you that you do need to back off. Oversteering around that circle was natural for a lot of the RWD cars, and spinning there was not uncommon. Not a huge deal. Trying to "combo" the circle with the S-turn that follows it, however, is completely NOT autocross, and you screwed that up more times than you got it right, spinning at least twice there, and at least once in the circle.

There's a fuzzy line in there somewhere between what's acceptable and what's not... you were way beyond it.

In short: It's not drift practice, it's autocross.

Whether you thought you disrupted the event or not... you did. Because you were spinning out frequently enough that the starter had to wait for you to finish playing before he could start the next car. It only adds up to 10-15 seconds per run, but if everyone did it, that would be an hour added to our day, or 2 less runs for everybody. Obviously, we don't want everyone to do that and screw up the works, which is why we're calling you out.

I was gonna go but my friend told me to come out to a party and it turned out it was a HUGE rave. I was there till 7am. I stoped by spc @ 730am and there was almost no body there. That stalker was sick. I wasn't feeling up to staying so I went home and went to sleep. I'll make it there next time! I got some better tires on the rear so hopefully next time I won't be over steering like I always do.
