deja-Vu

to finish first.. one must first finish.

with the "thrown together" stuff last minute I can only imagine the litany of issues. but I was hoping for them... Good JOB TAJ.. I guess the suspension held together. I still want to bounce those spring rates up via a Ebay coil over kit. ala Eurotrash before texas.

yea but we had alot of fun while we were out there. the car had less understeer, even on the crappier older tires from last year.
The car was also noticbily faster , if only....

Ill get the car looked at this weekend. Its going on a wiring harness diet. Everything but the ecu and dash has to go. Then there wont be as much to troubleshoot. We be ready for next time. Plus when I get the 2nd car built it will be running webbers and a distributor. Simple and easy to check.

Great job to those that did finish. The Z team in the top 10. Taj close behind. AND a e30 finally has won a Lemons race..

Ill be posting photos up to the facebook site soon.

The car was way faster than last year, and we were just barely tapping into the extra power. Didn't want to risk getting cursed, so we were holding back a bit. We didn't even have the good tires on the car Saturday! So, with good rubber and driven hard... there was easily another 2 seconds per lap out there, which would have put us on par with the Dogs.

But, even the Dogs had penalties and some minor mechanical setbacks, I think. Faster than them or not, if we'd have stayed on track and kept up our quick driver changes and stayed out of the penatly box... as we were doing up until the point the the car gave up... Top 5 would have been easy, and a win certainly without our grasp.

What Jeff said.

it was funny the cheat car was restricted from leaving this year. i was trying to watch it on the website they had set up but the vid failed.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Here's the curse video: YouTube - Peoples Curse - Lemons South Spring 2009

The car was great! Digging out of 2nd gear turns at the bottom of 3rd gear (aka "sandbagging"), I was still able to out-drag most of the faster cars. And even on a 2+ year old set of crappy Nitto tires, the car handled nicely. Just like last year, it went where you pointed it. Inside line, outside line, wherever.

the Team black sheep 300zx was amaxing. slow as hell, but we could somehow out brake most other cars on the course, including miatas 944s and e30s. that allowed us to duck under alot of people in the turns. we were top 10 on all postings but one. finished 9th, 564 laps completed, 31 laps down from the leader. the ONLY things we did to the brakes were prestone fluid and hawk front pads. ask euro trash, tires were worn the hell out and i think we were metal to metal on the rear pads. only 3 black flags, all for getting hit by somebody else. each ended up in driver changes only. we had a freaking blast. little more hp and a little less weight and September here we come. TAJ, Euro Trash and We Todd, good competing against you, wish euro trash could have stayed in tho.

Hey, TAJ, did you say you were looking for another parts car?

95 Ford Escort Parts Car

(would make a great LeMons car... the CL ad is PERFECT to hand to the judges)

Hey, here are the timed results from the race if anyone is interested:
MyLaps.com || Race and practice results powered by AMB i.t. transponders

I sat and looked over the lap charts and made some observations:
24 Hours of Lemons: Team Euro Trash's Notes | Facebook

We were actually in 3rd place when the car broke.

69 Dude. 69th place is not too bad of a finish for a "garbage truck". You'll get them the Next time guys (and Kris).
Pretty amazing, if I'm reading it correctly, but a 24 hour race with only 47 seconds seperating 1st and 2nd. Wow.
The Merkur team looked like a fun crowd. I'm gonna photoshop my image into their group photo.
