Yea its about that. The skid pad area is pretty large, then when you get over intot he back corners is where they have the mini road course area setup. They have a little course marked with a paint line thru it all. I met up with them with a friend who wanted to talk to about about drift events with them and I went to see what it was like and grab some photos of the track for everyone to see what its like. From what I remember they are doing a few events this weekend out there. Id get in touch with them and go check them out, they seem to eager to talk to new clubs and event organizers to help get the track known.. They are looking for event organizers and instructors.

I sent the photo link over to Jay the guy that runs the 24 hours of Lemons. He is looking for a track in FL. But needs a track that can handle 60 to 80 cars and it needs to be wide enough to go 2 to 3 cars wide .

He also commented about all the telephone poles and other obstacles.. That there may be to many things to run into. or hit.

In guessing since its a smaller track it be great for driving schools or a race with 12 cars. But something like a Lemons race is to big for the track.

Geezzz... the long track would need about 25 of those damn tire chicanes they like putting everywhere...
Now the club track is very do-able! It's busy with events there almost every weekend but it'll work. Lots of room, bathrooms, plus we dont have to drive 9 hours to get there!

I seem to hear a lot of safety concerns about these little tracks popping up all over the country. Not much runoff, and lots of large concrete things to hit.

Jay has spoken with Moroso, He is Ok with spending some $$...

Sebring woundnt return calls. I guess they dont want "those" kind of cars there.

The reson I pointed him to the Orlando track is because he could have easy access to tow cars to the infield. If its all cement with barriers he would be able to grab cars quicker and it less yellow flags. But it looks to be a little to tight.

Plus he already has 09 planned so anything in fl would be in 2010.

only bad I can say is they dont have a load of paved space or even decent grass areas for parking of trailers. There is a paved area across the street that they own and a gravel/grass area as well. I dont think you could fit 60-70 teams just int he paved area. and the gravel/grass area wasnt that level. Its a cool little track, I think some local orlando drifters met up with on saturday to test it out. The poles suck, but you know whats cool about them? You can now run at night, which could be cool, cause no more getting up at 7 am to get to the auto-x. Now you can show up in the afternoon and get a fgood sleep and driver into the night.

The guy let us drive his truck around, and he would have let us drive th car we had towed with us since we were going to OSW for something else, but we didnt have time and didnt wanna deal with unloading a car. I think they already had a tire machine guy get in touch with them so there could be a portable tire machine at their for events if its requested id assume.

I don't think it's "free", but looks like it's "cheap".

Good to see them exploring better marketing options than the "rent our little track for $6,000" option. They could actually make a little money by making use of the track for as many hours of every day as possible rather than letting it sit vacant waiting for a big club rental on the weekend.
