thanks Jerm. I appreciate the pix as always! Fun course but I felt slow on the back half, setting up correctly out of the turn around would have helped me more. Just another area to look forward on improving on.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

I do about a dozen road courses a year. In a couple weeks I'll be at Sebring testing a S2000 for a local shop. Today I was at Bradenton for a Viper meet. Stuff like that keeps me pretty busy.
Besides, you AX pros would probably spank me with all those cones.

Yep, for the past five years we've had an annual Viper drag race at Bradenton this time of year.
Where was your AX?
Where was your AX?

Zephyrhills. I was at the BMP on saturday when a lot of the vipers were showing up. A few of them were running in another trackday I was there shooting that day. I think almost everyone there owned at least 2 vipers.

Good pics, Mars.
Kudos to the Porsche event. I wasn't expecting 65 people to be there, but it all went down without a hitch. We got five runs. Both heats went pretty smooth. The course was great! I have not seen a wide open course like that in a while. It reminded me of one of the old BMW courses. I really had a good time trying to find the limits of my new car. It's so much different than the Z.
As for the BMW vs Porsche aspect ... It seems pretty clear who won. Although, it's probably not too cool that the Porsche guys had two previous national champions driving for them. Having not known this, I definitely would've bet on the BMW guys to win. Many of the Porsche guys are much faster than I remember them being. And they had that hired gun, Spin Out, driving for them, who ran just 1.4 seconds behind Danny Shields.
Hey Mark, it looks like your dream of being the fastest autocrosser in Valrico is getting a bit closer!

I'm the one who brought one of the "hired guns" to the event (John Thomas.) He was originally going to be in my E46 323 and I was going to take my Boxster S but I wanted to bring some R compound tires so he drove his truck and we shared the Boxster. So, he was almost a ringer for the other side.
Last year when I started doing AutoXs, I would have been dead weight to either marquee but this year I was only 2.6 seconds behind Danny.
Also, he was 12/1000th of a second behind Danny, not 1.4 seconds.
