11/25 Rally
I rode with Jeff on a pre-drive of the route today.
I'll make this simple: If you own a vehicle that you don't mind driving down some dirt roads, ENTER THE RALLY. If you're short on ground clearance, ENTER THE RALLY and skip the "extreme" stage. (yeah, you'll lose for skipping a stage... but trust me, YOU WILL HAVE FUN) If you have to rent a car, ENTER THE RALLY.
I'd estimate the roads as about 2/3 dirt, and a hoot to drive on. Only the one stage is really "challenging" to drive, and I'm sure if you enter and tell Jeff you don't want to run that part, he'll find a way to route you around it so that you can still enjoy the rest of the rally.
I'll put it this way... I don't think I'd have any trouble getting my Miata through this Rally course (except for the one stage... and even that one... maybe).

btw FYI, there is a Enterprise RentaCar only a few miles from the starting point, so think about that.

Argh, so tempting. My car's pretty low these days, but I'm still rocking the Pilot Sport all-seasons from Colorado. What better way to tear them up and replace them?
What do you mean by 'challenging'? Challenging as in lots of turns, dips, bumps? Or challenging as in difficult to navigate?

Challenging as in "requires ground clearance and a bit of skill to get through". The route itself is pretty easy to navigate, I think.
Mind you, Jeff got through every bit of it without any underbody scraping and without a bit of trouble in his 2006 Nissan Sentra with completely stock suspension.

Sorry I've been away They were closing my office and I had to get the interweb turned on here at my house. I'm back and running and Loren is right... I was writing the Scoring and Checkpoint team positioning plans today. any driver can bypass the "Extreme" bit since it's just before the lunch break anyone afraid can take a shortcut to lunch and only max out one control.
Are there any pictures from past events, or of the course? I'm just wondering what sort of roads we're driving on
