TreeKiller Rally...the Aftermath. (56k...go away!!!)
I had a great time, regardless if the final points were all screwed up. It was still awesome!!!
Here's #3 realizing that there Camaro was sitting a little too low for this path.
Here's where the majority of the group got "mis-directed". The GREEN path was the correct path, the RED path is the one that 3 of us took, taking us the way to the Florida National Cemetery, which currently houses over 83,000 deceased soliders. The blue box is where the STI and the Civic ended there journey down the 'Dead End'...and had to helped out by a Land Rover LR3. Please note that WE..Team #6, had made it through this area with NO PROBLEMS!!!
Getting your STI pulled out of the sandbox...Priceless...

LOL Yeah it was a great event. My navigator and I where bummed out big time!! We where dead on the entire race until we got stock
The sugar sand was just to much for the balding street tires. lol
I was very thankful that the land rover was still around.
Overall we had a great time and our team (awd-turbo.com) took both 2nd and 3rd in the equipped class.
Cant wait to do it again!!!
Great pics charles!!!

well Apparently Closed Controls do not work within SCCA guidelines. It's not a big problem for next time we will just use standard SCCA Open Controls with out times. I will review the results and post them online with any apparent errors omitted. or the stages in question lopped off.
I was VERY impressed at how well the first timers did, I know my first TSD I maxed out EVERY control, Got lost, and ended up having to give up and drive to the finish. of course this was a Pine Barrens Express Rally
Last nights event was actually won overall by a novice!
A couple things we can all be proud of.
only one car broke, and it was a bad part not the rally course.
the ones that did get stuck got out and it'll buff out.
EVERYONE eventually found their way to the end.
with everyone accounted for we don't need to send out a search party
I wonder if that is what Land Rover had in mind for their press car. Although I do have some respect for a truck I thought was a glorified Soccer Van
Rally is alive in Florida again. and each and every event we run will get better and better.
Jeff

Great event Jeff! Thanks for all your hard work.
Aargh, I'm just know getting to unload my car and it looks like I may have lost one of my keys. In the dark there in the parking lot, near the dumpster, I may have dropped a single key on a red and black Ford SVT key ring. If anyone lives close to there and is in the area maybe you can drop me a line if you find it. Maybe someone turned it in at the Moose lodge also. Anyway it's worth a shot.

we got stuck and thank you to everyone for your help push us out
we'll take good care cleaning the Camaro today; grass and sand everywhere
Thanks for posting the pics I am saving them for the good memory and good laughs we had, granted there was frustration but hey that gives you a reason to look back and laugh!
Jeff this was a really fun event, frustrating and maddening at times but in the end hearing everyone share stories and laughing made you really glad to be a part of the whole experience. Thank you to everyone who was involved.
Question should there have been a grid master to release the cars? I am not familiar with these type of events to know if there is one or not.
Next time I am going to let my one of my Honda's have all the fun, they love this stuff!

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
