So, then I said to myself... "self, what would it take to make that beater Miata trackable?"

Anybody care if the front of the car is a little banged up? I bought it that way, it's fully functional, just a little ugly. Okay, a lot ugly. But I ain't fixin' it.

Otherwise, all I need is:
1. a set of tires (14" Azenis are delightfully cheap)
2. a set of brake pads
3. remove the noisy power steering pump and go manual

The Beater Miata... ugly and slow, but effective.

FDfranklin, if you've never been on a track before, you definitely want to get some instruction. I've done a one-day track school, an Evo school, and been autocrossing for close to 3 years, and if not for Loren's instruction likely would've killed the car, me, him, or any combination of the parts. Don't just head on out there - get a coach.

Loren, I can't go in Sept, but my brake pads can if they'll fit (I don't recall what year the beater is...).

you forgot:
4. pickup truck and tow rig to bring beater home after 200,000 mile engine decides it prefers to live the rest of it's short existence imitating a flaming ball

My exhaust is just loud enough so they can't hear me scream.

I am still dissapointed that my car was not ready for this event. I am going to be at Sebring on the 22nd. My best friend will be out in his Zo6 (C5).

I knew there was going to be a small number in attendence! Oh well.

Chuck, will you be making the 22nd? You must be to busy with the ladies as you have now missed 2 events!

I have one track day and many laps on forza under my belt, can I get in?!?

But seriosuly, I would like to attend the Sept Sebring event. I know I most likely need an instuctor(basically just to help me get around the track fast). Once I sign up for the event, how do I go about getting an instructor? And Im assuming you pay more for one?
