im not worried about clearance , more about paint job. So I do have a few oldercars that it wont matter if the paint gets chipped. Last rally i did on dirt roads the Citroen DS lost a hubcap and we had to turn around and find it.. plus if we went at a quick pace the stones were banging the crapout of the car.

So I guess I can rent a Tarus.. no one will care about a Tarus. Or even better yet a Cavalier, we know they are faster than a Nissan

Man BAM, you really know how to hurt a guy... and you need a correction... A GIRL in a cavilier is faster then a Nissan, when said Nissan is driven by a man with a girls name (Ducking)

Cool I am glad there is that much interest. I am looking forward to this event. You should see my paperwork wed or so..

So you never answered , RE the amount of paved surface vs dirt/gravel. If its not giving to much away... If there is going to be a fair amount of dirt/ gravel Ill drive a car I dont care about the paint..

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Don't worry, Jeff's not taking you on any roads that he hasn't driven more than a few times in his Sentra. I expect he'll be kind enough to point out in the route instructions anywhere you might need to slow down for safety. He's good that way.

these are from a preivious Rally we ran but give you an idea of "forest" roads

To recieve SCCA sanction and insurance I HAVE to have A Rally steward drive the entire route at rally speed to determine it's saftey if he deems anything too difficult I must change it. and he drives a honda accord. (not exactly a Jeep)

and I have allready approached some suncoast flatlanders (4x4 club) to run sweep, so if someone does go off into some deep sand they can get pulled out. (the sand is the only REAL threat if you miss a turn or just drive off you Might get high centered, but if you drive within your limits you'll be fine)

It's also common courtsey if you pass a car that has driven into somthing they shouldn't have without someone helping them that you stop and assist If you buy a $10 bright yellow tow strap at wallmart, and signal the oncomming rally car with it he will stop, and get you going again, if you get "Goodnstuck" that's what the 4x4 club is for.
