I think I agree with Loren on this one. Get to know your car in race situations first. Learn what it does in corners, learn how to correct understeer or oversteer, etc. Then you can start modding it, or losing weight. That way when you take it out next race, you can decide if you like the way it responds.
Giving an analogy from my world, you don't start out right away going sideways on the gravel, you gotta learn how to brake smoothly, set the car up for the corners, etc first.
Gotta walk before you can run!

Does anyonw know when the next road/circuit race is? Or where i can get some drive time in as a novice? How many of you guys actually go out to Sebring or any other track in the central FL area for theis type of racing?

HAHAHA! yeah I hear ya man, Im riding on steelies now with shit tires and understeering like a dog, and my brakes are squealing everywhere i go(quite embarrassing actually) lol. But hopefully within the next month or so i should have new rotors, pads, brake lines and fluid,15" wheels and some azenis prob unless someone can talk me out of them
Also all this should be accompanied by a full header-back exhaust(Megan Header and Apexi WSII cat-back) WISH ME LUCK! after that I will definately be hitting up some track events.
PS. Sorry for the long post.

Good plans. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about the exhuast system. the extra power won't help you in autocrossing. Is your egine stock or swapped? If it were swapped I would say go ahead, but if it is a stock engine, you would be better off spending your money elsewhere.
