Default Is Deland worth a 2 hour drive?

Is Deland worth the drive from Brandon?

How does it compare with Brooksville?

I think you have to decide whether 4 - 38 second runs are worth 4 hours of highway driving, and that is being optomistic about the return trip. I thought about it myself, but it isn't worth it to me, even though I haven't run since 2/1 and I won't have another opportunity until 5/8.

Looks similar setup as Z-Hills. But the pavement looks better in DeLand. Never been there though.

The surface was definitely better than ZH, but it got pretty slippery toward the end of the day, and the course was pretty short. Fast times were in the mid-to-high 30's. Not worth the drive, IMO. And Brian was right. Traffic on the way back sucked in a few places. But we still made it back in a little over 2 hours.

How well organized was the event? I have been staying away from them for years because their events were sooooo bad. At my last east coast event, I got three 28-second runs and I had to work during one of my run heats.

It was TOTALLY different from the BCC events I've been to. None of this "run across the course to go take your runs" nonsense. 3 run groups with a traditional work/run order.

It was really well run. Despite the event chair's complete lack of people skills, it wasn't a bad event at all organization-wise.

If it was closer I'd hit it.
