Looks really nice man. Hopefully I'll be joining you within a few month's with some coilovers as well. I swear, I could fit my head in my cars wheel well right now.

The front and rear shocks are different lengths. They also have different mounts. The front needs the longer mount to space the spring away from the lower control arm and spindle (they are mounted 'upside down').

These are specifically for FFR's. They are based off of the Koni 3012 shock. It's a high pressure monotube with independently adjustable compression and rebound dampening. The 3012's were originally developed in the 80's for use in Formula 1 cars.

I ordered them at the end of January and they just now came in. They're a special order available only through a single distributor and he orders 10 sets at a time from Koni. I can't wait to get them in.

Got the front put in yesterday. I didn't realize how worn the old shocks were until I drove on the new ones. WOW.

In with the new and out with the old....

Here's one of the installed coilovers. (The picture isn't great. It came out too dark and I lightened it a bit so it's as crappy as my photochop skills)

There's more to it than that. There were actually a couple of different SLA setups for Fox body mustangs that were available. One of them was the Bart's Works SLA. HP Motorsports bought the rights to the design ( this is back around 2001). To my knowledge, they only ever sold 2 of them. Allegedly, they worked pretty well, but IIRC there was some single sheer design element that couldn't be eliminated (due to space constraints in the fox unibody) that was a major safety issue. They were pretty expensive too. like > 2k. Ford did something similar on the FR500 concept using off the shelf parts (I belive they used an aluminum upper from the rear of a lincoln?).

It's been attempted before.

Looks nice. Now I won't be able to make fun of your suspension any longer.
