Someone here on TR (may have been in the drifting forum) was asking about what it would cost to get started in road racing.

Well, here's an opportunity to get started pretty inexpensively. This 1990 Spec Miata race car is ready to race. In fact, it was raced hard at Sebring 2 weeks ago.

Kevin is building a new car because he feels that his skills have reached a level where the car is holding him back. This car isn't bad, but it was built on a budget as an entry-level car... it has fundamental "flaws" such as the roll cage being a little heavier than it needs to be. As we all know, to be truly competitive, a car like this needs to be at the minimum weight allowed for the class.

You could start with a $2000 Miata and build a car like this yourself... but you'd probably spend just as much money and a LOT more time.

Such is not its purpose. It's an all-out race car to go racing in so you don't have to screw up your daily driver.

Though I don't think the car is too far from being streetable... in fact, barring title and tag issues, it might even BE street legal. Not sure if all of the lights are functional or not.
