Lightbulb Club Sponsorship

Looking for ideas, leads or contacts here.

In order to make our Primus events cost-effective for the 2004 season, the SunRiders really need to find some sponsors.

What we have to offer sponsors:
"Title" recognition (if they're willing to throw us enough money)
"sponsored by" regognition
name and logo on printed materials and websites
banners at the track (which, strategically placed, would be seen in a lot of photos)
lots of very thankful speed junkies (potential customers)

If anyone has any interest or info, please contact me as soon as possible. We'll be meeting next week to come up with a plan for seeking sponsorship.

Loren, I have zero pull here (being employed less than a month), but will present the idea to the right people.

Todd - Courtesy Toyota/Mazda/etc...

Hey, Todd. If you could, rather than present it to someone, just find out who the right person is. We've had a good deal going with Courtesy for several years, but our primary contact there (Cheri Turner) has moved on, and there has also been a management change there. We don't know who to talk to any more!

If you could, send me an email and let me know what you've got.

If nothing else, we could use you for a "point man", it's always good to have someone on the inside. But we should brief you on the history before you go in.

Thanks!

I E-mailed you the info. Loren. Good luck. Hook me up if it works out, I'm eternally poor and those Primus events don't look to be cheap .

Hey, if you'd drive something like an old "Paid For" Miata instead of a high-dollar S2000, you wouldn't be so poor!

We appreciate the help, man. Courtesy has previously been the sponsor of our regular SPCC autocross series, which we're going ot try to leave as a separate series. Hopefully, they will stay on in that role.

But we will definitely remember your help.

I bought my roadster to pick up women, not look like one driving it . I'm just kidding, I know Miata drivers are sensitive about the whole "woman's car" thing. But, you're right. Unfortunately I'm buried in it. In the past few months I've pursued less expensive avenues. It seems the only answer is to make more money... Such is the life of an American.

Arright, I don't really want to get waaaay off-topic, but...

Women who are mentally beyond the age of about 16 are not impressed by a guy's car. In fact, most will read a more negative impression from a guy who drives up in a "masculine" car. Don't believe me? Go ask some chicks.

As for me, I'm secure enough in my masculinity that I will proudly drive my shiny red Miata with the top down while wearing my favorite pink shirt anytime I feel like it! I'm too old to pick up chicks, anyway... and my wife hates it when I do.

Dude, a joke...c'mon. I rib Alan about it all the time. He says when he get's that comment (often), he usually tells them that their <insert here> (mother, wife, girlfriend, sister), liked it last night and was surprised they could give such a great blow-job in such a small car.

I just wanted a drop-top and a car has never helped me pick-up a woman that's worth a crap. In a few instances it may have sealed a deal on a new S-2000 and that's about the only way I've ever used it as a "tool of seduction". And I've had comments about how only a gay guy would buy a red leather interiored car...screw 'em.

If I honestly had that mentality I'd have saved for a Boxster. Those Porsche badges seem to get panties wet.

It was only a joke, I thought we did that here...
