i know i had a p3 15" on 300 rms, and it would play all day... i dont think the power handling drops all too much on the p2's, so i would assume they can handle the power.. therefore, i have to assume its either the box, or something thats wrong with the subs. have you checked the actual ohm load on each voice coil?

my bad its not making a cracking noise its a popping noise. these subs were hitting hard i was loving it but i when it really hit the speakers made a popping noise and then shut down, i turned it down immediately and then turned it back up and they were working again. i remember when my friend put them in for me he had a wire going from one end of the speaker to the other. not sure what that was all about though. i think i would be satisified with this setup if i could just be able to turn it up w/o in fear of this popping that could possibly damage my setup. i never had this issue before untill i put a stronger amp on.

well i read this article and it could either be a relay pop or something about my ground being too long.

Crutchfield Tech Support: Noise Problem Troubleshooting: Popping noise

maybe i never had an issue prior to this till i put the jl amp on cause i wasnt pushing enough power to have an issue?
