buddy, this sport has been around a hell of a lot longer than you have, and there are a lot of people you dont know, nor will ever know. to be honest, there are more people that dont know either frankie or pipo than people that do.

the opposite, steve meade... more people know that guys name than the fishman. and personally, i think steve meade sucks the daily wank stain. making a name for themselves doesnt always mean you deserve it, and deserving it doesnt always make a name for yourself.

 

yes scott is a friend of mine we go back 20 years, infact i competed against him at SBN against the mad marks hurst with 36 15's, in pro division, that year he took 1st and i was 2nd. but 16 12's with 1000watts (amps rated at 4ohms) against his 36 15's with 30k rated at 4 ohms (back then the classes we based on manufacture ratings at 4 ohms) i did not have a chance, I also know the fishman B4 he became famous, i know steve, he really is a nice guy, and has gone out of his way for me with his contacts at rockford in the past. One thing i have learned is not to burn you bridges and the car audio world is small, with the attitude you have you wont make many friends, I have work for or with most of the biggest shops around, when i did this for a living i took it real serious and became a Master MECP installer, as my pay was based on % of labor, and more certs i had the higher my $ was. Now i do this a sidework, and hobby (i bet i still do more a week than you as a shop owner, last week i profited $1400, part time!)

 

Only thing I will say out of disagreeing is about MEADE.. He seems like a cool dude and did his thing.. His nut sack swingers are what give him a bad name but it shouldn't be his issue.. he does feed em well so they stick around though

 

steve is one hell of a designer/builder. he hits his market perfectly. however, his claims are outrageous and completely false. for the amount of money he has spent, the amount of power he has in his system, the amount of cone area, and the competitive format classes he would be placed in, he is absolutely not even competitive. yet he claims to shut shit down. and when called out, he deletes, bans, hides, etc. i understand the nut huggers, but hes let it get to his head, as anyone thrust into a leadership position eventually does.

If i took a picture of 1/4 of the way done FG work it would like like a damn sculpture compared to your pudding pile. If you DO THE WORK RIGHT even a 1/10 finished project will never be as rough and out of shape as yours is. And what difference does it make how done it to as to where the switches are? Buddy the holes are cut now!
Also, i don't assemble cars 1/4 done, so i dont tend to take pictures of cars in that state.
You ask why i dont post much on FLSPL? Why should I? Most of the guys over there are cool dudes, but there are others who are just there to hug on other's man parts. The last post I got involved in over there was about an amplifier that was obviously lying about its power rating becuase math and physics don't bend for anyone. Yet half the people refuse to acknowledge reality. So why bother?

um this is where you stuck your foot in your mouth...those are ready to be wrapped from the looks of the picture...mine havent even begun to be smoothed out yet...like i've been trying to say (but obviously the TR community jumps the gun) my car is a running project...door panels arent even close to being done...they are still just fiberglass and small amount of filler...dont worry i'll let you see finished product....then you might be , i did jump the gun.

Nah, they weren't ready to be wrapped yet. I like my stuff to look nice so there was plenty more to be done to be ready for vinyl. But since I did it the right way it really didn't take all that long to get them to that point, thus i said 1/4 done. The thing is unpadded vinyl will show about 95% of the imperfections that paint would, so it's got to be pretty freakin close to perfect. And i'll admit I had a b*tch of a time with these doors, because the owner kept the truck very very clean - and probably armor-all'd the panels a couple times a week. I swear it oozed out of the plastic when i warmed them up so getting good adhesion was a pain!
