Memphis Audio
memphis is one of the few companys that are still made in the usa. there amps put out clean power and there subs can take a beating. i have ran 3 systems with all memphis stuff and loved all of them. i also use to work for custom intovations here in ocala and had very few of or memphis products come back. inless they were improperly played. but any speaker/sub/amp can be abused and poped.

one of my friends car (s2000) is sponsored by memphis 100%, i did a rewire on the car because devine fucked it up real good, after i rewired and tuned the car, i was impressed, loud clean sound, compaired to your middle to higher end stuff - no hertz or focal but for its price point sounds good.
I was reading this thread and going to comment about how Memphis is decent stuff, then got to the guy that picked up on it being about 6 years old...so I was just going to bail...until i read this \/ \/ \/ \/
Agreed on Kicker and Rockford for quality...but no unless not so much on JL...and I know I know...everyone that knows me on here knows I'm a JL whore. But anyways...Memphis is good stuff for the price. I've never even heard of some of this stuff you guys got down here in Florida when I was back up north...I don't know if its coming over from PR or what...But people run some cheap stuff here that sounds terrible and they swear by it. Seems like people are just scared to spend money on good stuff for some reason.
Let the arguments start....

Thats why you got to pull your car next to them and show them something.
People just buy like a decent sub and dont have the right amp, dont have the right box, and dont want to spend MONEY so they decide to do it themselves. And when they hear a nice sound system next to them, they don't say anything afterwards. I am cool with people that dont want to spend money (me too), but talking like you have the top of the line thing, when you dont, kinda pissed me off. I see this all the time.
I have heard Memphis, and have JLs myself. I like the Mojo better than the JL subs but I like the JL amps over the Memphis. But I wouldnt say one is WAY better than the other.

X2...couldn't have said it better myself bro. I've heard some rediculously cheap things (like quantum) sound really good just because the tune and install was done right.

I got my setup F/S I like jl audio, but they just to expensive,I think Memphis amps are more efficient than jl also,My buddy got a jl 1000/1 amp and a w7,similar setup to mine, mine is a prelude his in a civic, both 90amp alt,and my system quite a bit louder/cleaner this his and I paid about 1/2 less than him, both brand new.

that could all be with the source unit though...an old JVC with 1.5 volt preouts is naturally going to sound not as lound and not as clean as something current with a 4-8 volt preout...its all relative on alot more factors than just saying theyre quoted as the same wattage amps and the same sized subs.

all of the inputs are correct. The same old dilemma of who is better will never resolved. No vehicle nor setup is the same. There are too many variables. As long as one does the research and the install is done right any sytem will sound 'good'.
i have JL sub, mono amps powering my system. I have the memphis PR door speakers and they are loud and clear. I cant say my highs are awesome because it my amp feeding them and i cant say my amp is the shizznit becasue my high are the ones producing the sound. You cant have without the other so to speak when it comes to the power source.
Memphis is a great brand. period. there is no such thing as is it better than brand 'X'
unless its american pro or something rediculous
