Default Help needed, 1991 q45 headunit

I'm going to be replacing my stock unit with a double din dvd/cd player, however from my research this is going to be difficult than wiring in a simple headunit because of the BOSE speakers. (stock unit is toast, and i've had this one sitting around)

Each bose speaker has it's own amp, stock. So, I'm gathering some adapter harness has to be fashioned.

Regardless, I'm in Tampa and need it done.

This is the headunit

my pathfinder was like this when i got it. front doors both had little amps in them and then one in the back for the rear doors/tweets. when i installed my H.U. i bypassed the amps. running the speaker leads from the H.U. to the speakers in the doors (aftermarket). this may not be the route you want to go but it is an option.

If you OEM amps are still in good working order and you don't plan to swap the speakers, they do make an integration harness for your car. It will plug into the RCA outputs of the new deck and use the OEM amps to drive the speakers. I'd suggest doing that as long as everything in the car works, becuase the sound quality and power output from that deck is going to be pretty weak. The harness is inexpensive and and plugs right into the OEM wiring.

Default Old car

That car is almost 20 years old chances are if the stock amps do still work then they are on there last legs and the same goes for those factory speakers.

Just something to consider

bypass all that crap. I just did it to the front speakers of my rsx when i installed my new components. Just run fresh wires from the location to the deck. Doesnt matter what aftermarket speaker you put in it its still going to sound like poo.

I would do it at the same time as installing your new headunit. Wheni had my double din installed it sounded horrible at high volume because of the bose amp. Now they scream

The speakers sound pretty good, especially considering their age. I'm pretty much looking to work with what I've got.

Thanks for all suggestions and advice everyone.

Any more information on this harness? I was unable to find one.
