ohh and if you think they are hitting nice now.....you havent heard anything. its going to be twice as loud and relaxing low notes. That happened to me with my 2 10'' Boston's. sounded nice and tight in my truck but when i put them in a ported box in my wifes trunk i had to get another battery. It was so loud. the trunk and headliner flexed like crazy.

night and day man.

Soooo putting them in a different box will suddenly require you to put in another battery? How does this work?

As far as I remember, you draw the same amount of power through the amp to drive the woofers, but the ported box changes the air dynamics.

Someone please explain how changing air dynamics requires you to get another battery?!!?

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

Lol well even though It wasn't the way he put it... Different enclosures can give a sub the opportunity to take more power without blowing... That's about the closest thing I could imagine he was talking about...

yes but ported makes the sub more efficient meaning it won't take as much power..

Well it went from an S-10 to a civic so of course that tiniy little battery wont handle that AMP. And i wasnt being literall about the bass being twicew as loud but i did make a hell of a difference.

when you go from a 2.5 ish sealed to a 3.5ish ported its bound to get significantly louder

I know, I'm just teasing you. You're a good sport.

since we started dating back in high school i have always put bass in her car. she's had 12's and 10's. She had even had a 13w7. she doesnt care at all. I just do it because i want to but she could care less. she only listens to 1 radio station and uses her ipod for running.

I put the system in back in march. I'm taking back out again this week because we need the trunk space for groceries. so now i'm stuck with 2 10's and 1000/1. I cant really complain since i have good stuff but i hate for it to lay around and collect dust.

back to topic: go get one made man. go see some of these guys on here or MCOR. from what i have read on him he knows his stuff
