what amp should i get to power my 1st gen L5 15" in a 5.9 cubic foot box at 32 hrtz? ive been working on this thing again and i took it apart to make the inside and corners 100% smooth.. used my finger in the corners to make them round its turning out pretty good but i dont know what watt amp i should get

 

With that much airspace for an L5 Id be careful not to put too much power to it. You risk smoking the sub, tearing a spider, ripping tinsel leads and such if lets say it tries to play real low and gets alot of excursion going...

 

L5's are pretty weak subs as it is, and then to drop it in such a large box you've really left minimal options. I would defiantly recommend under 500 watts and make sure you've got a highpass filter on it to be sure the sub never tries to play too low. 5.9 cubes is likely large enough for 2 L5's to be happy, but I think it's way to big for one.

 

what if i blocked off the space behind the 2nd port peice would that help? id probly lose around 1.5 or so cubic foot

 

Id say that sub would be happy with something in the 3-3.75 neighborhood
