Default will my mtx handle 1 ohm?

mtx mxa 8001, it says 2ohm stable but mtx said it would handle 1ohm, anyone tried?

What the hell does "it says it's 2 ohm stable but mtx says it will do 1 ohm" mean? If mtx says it will do 1 ohm, throw 1 ohm at it...it's their warranty. /thread

well it is a 2 ohm mono block amp it does not say in the manual that it can be ran 1 ohm. when i called the 1800 num. i was told it could be ran at 1 ohm and i was wondering if anyone else had tried...whiplash wtf are you talking about?

You can't wire your sub/subs to 1ohm if you have them wired at 2ohm

i was looking to buy new subs, they would wire down to 1 ohm, but i dont want to buy them before i know if the amp would be ok-

I'm still confused why the manual would say 2 ohms and the support staff say 1 ohm is ok...


Just stick with 2ohms anyways. Keep your current setup.

because the support staff allot of times are just sales men that have no idea what they are talking about ... stick to the manual it was written by the engineer who designed the amp...
