ok well im tired of replaceing fuse's in the suburban.. what would make the fuse and fuse holder melt? this is the 2nd fuse and holder that has melted in this truck... should i run another run of 4 ga power wire will that stop it by helping it get mre power to the amps?

 

get it off the engine?

 

its screwed to a peice of wood next to the battery

 

skipp the fuse box altogether.

 

check grounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - use quality products, amp is pulling to much amps, rewire lower ohm load!, i can keep going but that is basic installer stuff - pay someone who knows what they are doing!!!!!

if his grounds were bad, there would be less current flow. Now if theres a bad connection in the fuse block itself, that could lead to arcing which could melt the block.

If his amp is pulling too much current, he needs a higher ohm load.

You got the right size fuse, and it's not to small? Do you have any corroded or loose or poorly crimped connections?

 

both where 100 amp fuse's that came with the power wire.. didnt have a problem in the skylark with them and we had 3 amps sony xplode 1000 sony xplode 1200 and dhd 1200 now there is only the sony xplode 1000 and the sony xplode 1200.. but there was 2 runs of 4 ga in the skylark.. the connections where crimped from the factory.. when her gets payed thursday hes going to go buy 2 round fuse's and holders and put them in i ran another run of 4 ga today
