Default Amp Power Help

Ok, I have power coming from directly from the battery, the remote comeing from the unit.. When I hook an ohm meter up to the power wire, I'm only getting 3 volts...same as the remote.. It'll come up as 12v when your at where its receiving the power(unit,battery) but the wire in the trunk is 3v..I tried different wiring, same shit...Can anyone PLEASE tell me whats going on lol

The unit gets power fine btw.

grounded cable, fried amp, bad fuse, bad connections, low battery.. theres no way to diagnose this without looking at it. Drive to zephyrhills and ill fix it

I'll pass on drving the 45 mins..lol The amp and fuse are fine, battery is good...what you mean by grounded cable, like the power wire is hitting bare metal somewhere or something?

yeah, like if its cut into a sharp corner and its exposed side is touching something metal.

there are too many solutions to this too-common symptom.

Like talking to a doctor over the phone and you only tell him you have a headache and sinuses are stuffy.

Where are you grounding your volt meter (not ohm meter, btw)? My guess is that you are not getting to a good ground, which will cause the low voltage reading. If you are using your amp ground, it is no good.

It was grounded it to bare metal thats near the amp...

There was nothing in it..besides some cheap durabrand speakers lol...

Anyway, I measured the volts before and it was reading 12v....Turned the car off and put it back on then it went down to 6...then 3...now wtf lol
