engine noise
I'd say it's either your deck or amp. I've had situations where I've swapped the deck out and all background noise was eliminated, same with amps. Considering your amp is the lowest end piece of equipment in your system.....you might want to start with that.
And I have seen instinces where power wire and rca's/speaker wires ran together have induced noise. All depends on the kind of wire you're running though and amount of power/guage of wire. It's rare, but it's possible.

when i had both of my 4 gauge wires and my rca's ran together. It made a real bad ticking noise and sounded like SHIT. the guys at circuit city said it was spark plug tick? so i moved the rca's over and it cleared it up. so i have been dealing with the whine. i have the alpine deck, mtx amp, momo speakers and type r subs, i guess the rca's would be my problems?

Try:
Making sure your RCA's and Power are not run on the same side...sometimes you can get away with this but not always
Regrounding your amps...make sure you have a good ground
Check your radio ground...Make sure it is also grounded properly
If you check both of those and you still have a problem then you need to buy a " Ground Loop Isolator". It goes for like $10 - $15 bucks and an audio shop. It connects between your rca cables and your amp.

Ive got wal mart wires, they are the shit

Check your ground
Then check your amp...Lazar blows. The only decent one is Vibes which are the same amps as the JBL's

You could just insert a GNI ( Ground Noise Isolator between your PS2 and your AUX input.

seriously though...yes cheaper amps can introduce noise problems more often. after you make sure your grouds are good, try running another rca outside of the car just to test it... if you still got noise, most likely the amp. very slim chance it would be rca output off the deck. and, i would never put a ground loop isolator/noise filter in my car to get rid of engine noise (at least on main rca's to the amps). i would get a new amp before i did that. just my .02
