does 200 rms at 4 ohms always give 400 at 2? Two people on TR are selling mtx amps that are like that. Would i have to worry about them over-heating?

im going to have to say no because that would mean 400 watts at 4 ohms would be 800 watts at 2 ohms and thats not always tru

the way i understood it, it went something like this:

100 @ 8 ohms
200 @ 4 ohms
400 @ 2 ohms
800 @ 1 ohm

if its an mtx it dosent go down to 1 ohm stabel will over heat or catch on fire seen it happen

I was just using it as an example. But should it be able to handle a 2 ohm load?

yea most amps will its when its like 1 ohm or half an ohm were it becomes a problem

a lot of 2 channel amps dont like bridged to a 2 ohm load
