dont give your type r's 500 watts i did that with mine n they blew real quick, my advice would be run them they way theyre supposed to dont try and push em cuz theyll blow, i kno from experience me n wally blew plenty of them lol

hmm drop the type r's get some mdf make a new box and get new subs that will run at 2 ohms or fuckin just use 2 type r's. Alains sounded loud but was also in a hatch and distorted to hell. Same with sankeys shit.

 

not dropping the type R's... no money for new ones..not rebuilding the box, got a whole trunk built for these size, im not about to change it for that.

Well in that case, you're really not going to gain anything....just destroy some subs. There's a right and wrong way to do things and your system is only going to be good as it's weakest link.

When the hell did the Type-Rs Turn into a shit box?

One install I did:

2 Alpine Type R 12's (SVC) Powered by an MTX 81000D throwing 500 watts rms to each

NO Issues, Handles The Abuse, And sounds CLEAN in a sealed box.

I just cannot believe the responses im hearing!


just makin sure, but we are talking about Alpine Type-Rs? Are We doing propper spec'd boxes? are we not setting clean freq settings, using chit amps?

 

i thought type Rs were dvc ?
