Do you have any proof of this? I just talked to a guy who has been designing boxes for a while now and he says this is not true

A shared chamber will work. I prefer seperate however, it's safer for the subs.

Yes, we do. Build a box like this and see. Notice how the woofer closer to the port moves differently then the one furthest frtom the port. Follow physics laws. If two woofers are trying to move air, the one furthest from the port if gonna have to be working more to push the air to the port. I have done testing and found that two seperate chambers works better then one common chamber on vented boxes.

now u know if the box is too small for the subs dimention wize it will blow your subs within time.. i went to ave and they aere the best in makeing ported boxes and they recoment people buy made ones then makeing there own cuz you would need to know the peak power of the sub and the space it would need so the air traped in the box wont blow the sub but if you want go to aveonline.net and ask thell teach u to make one lol ight peace..

i'd just build a box and put the port between the two speakers............ no worrys about distance to the port........

as far as it working, it is ok to run 2 speakers in one enclosure as long as the airspace and port volume is correct.......
