I had a shop install fiber fill on my last 2 setups... which were ported. big box with 4 10" earthquakes.... oldschool.... and the setup in my silverado.... it didn't shoot anywhere. Majority of the good shops will install fiberfill. In a ported box it will absorb standing waves and remove some of the muddy sound heard in many ported systems.. I dont know what the hell you guys are takling abuot shooting fiber fill all over the trunk.... dont know wtf you are using.
i always read fill was for sealed only, the reason it was used was to kill the back wave which in turns tones down the pressure inside the box allowing the cone to move more and thus being louder. And it was bad to use in a ported box because the port utilizes the back wave and thats why u get that extra db outta ported
