Either run it directly to the alternator or bridge it to the your current battery.

Oo0o0o yes I saw this on Trucks! Tv yesterday !!

Wire the posative to posative and negative to negative then wire to the alternator. That will keep everything 12 volts. DO NOT wire negative on one battery to posative on the other then to the alternator cuz that will cause a 24 volt load and it will blow everything on ur car that is made for 12 volt only. but yeah its not hard at all, hard to understand? ill draw a picture if u need

You'd have to be a moron to wire positive to negative...

Why do you need a second battery?

To keep it charged, use a battery isolator or a diode, even tho a diode loses .5 volts or so.

dont wire battery to battery, that will just drain both.

Word! Beat me to it.

I'm also curious why the need for a second battery.. Even some of the most advanced or power-hungry setups can be done on a single battery. Possible that you may just need a larger alternator?

i have a optima gel cell my dad gave to me and thought it would be cheaper to just hook it up instead of boosting the alt.
