Question HU Skipping.. How to fix?

It's an Alpine headunit.. a little older (2 or 3 years old). This thing skips CD's just for fun.. I could be sitting in a parking lot and not moving and it'll skip every other minute as if there is a huge gouge in the CD itself. I've tried with brand new CD's as well.

Also it reads most CD-R's (not as MP3, but as standard CD) although it won't read others. Is this related?

Is there a fix for this? Maybe a lense cleaning? I've always read that those lense cleaners you get shouldn't be used in a car CD player.. but I have to do something.

Any help would be great.

I'd look into the lense cleaner.....never really heard if they were applicable on car units or not.

or if you open it you can use a cotton swab with a mix of windex and water about a 50\50 mix and rub the lense with the cotton swab
