couple simple audio questions
Which are better from alpine, type r or type s? I looked them up and they both are rated at 50watts rms (6.5 components).
And I was wondering what everyone thought of MA Audio amps. I will never pay the outrageous prices for JL or some of the others. I am also looking into JBL, but found MA audio's for pretty damn good prices. Thanks.

Type R > Type S
and just so everyone else doesnt complain about typing this again since it comes up every month or so, MA Audio is crap. They used to be Mobile Authority, had a bad rap, changed their name, you basically get what you pay for in most cases.
TBSpyder will see this thread soon enough and he can tell u about JBL amps cuz hes got em and im a n00b compared to him.
Good luck

I personally prefer JBL amps to RF. I've owned both, had some problems with the RF amps. I think their old school stuff is much better than the new line their pushing in the chain stores nowadays. They're not as solid or bullet-proof as they used to be.
On a side note, I've never seen new RF amps for less than JBL. Is it remanufactured or what? I got my JBL 80.2 for $100...from a licensed seller (full warranty). Their's alot of different online stores that carry them, so my best advice would be to find the absolute cheapest and then go to someplace like Sounddomain, who will beat the price for you. Plus, then you have the peace of mind of buying from a solid and dependable company.

Well I found the 80.2 for $79.99, so sound domain will beat that? The JBL I really want is the 600.1 which I found for $200. But I found the RF 301S for $128.90 that puts out the same 300 watts at 4 ohms. I really don't want to pay over $150 for each of the 2 amps I am getting. I want a mono or bridgeable amp that will push 300-500 rms and a 4 channel that will push at least 50x4 rms.
Yeah, Sounddomain should beat the price. They have a 105% lowest price policy which means they meet the price and then beat it by 5%. Although they sometimes will give you a hard time about it if the opponent is not an authorized retailer or something like that. And ofcourse they're not going to offer that price policy on eBay items. They haven't turned me down on anything yet though.
I've got the 600.1 as well...it's a sub amp though. I got that one for around $150. Are you looking for an amp to use on components or subs? You'll want to stick with a class D amp for your sub(s) and a class a/b for your components. One thing I really like about the JBL amps is how cool they run, I've yet to have one go into protect mode even at high volumes for long periods of time. They're proven performers as far as I'm concerned.

I need a sub amp to run 300-500 rms and I need a 4 channel that pushes 50x4 rms to run a pair of components and a pair of coaxials. Where did you find the 600.1 for $150? Was it new?
It was new. Found the price at BestToys.net and had Sounddomain beat it. I don't think they carry car audio equipment anymore though...but the low prices are out there. JBL also makes a 300.1 which might work for you and it's even cheaper.
