So, the whole pack rolls out of Race Track Gas station on St. Pete side of Gandy. I pull in pretty late in my Red MK3 and open Downpipe. I start bullshitting w/ a NA DSM guy, thats sitting by a 2WD Shortbed Silverado, and a few cars down is the Grayish/silver MKIV Supra w/ what looks like a Veilside wing, and the Blue Viper GTS w/ white racing stripes and then the 67 or 68 Pro-street Nova pulls in, barely idling... an Idle so lumpy youd choke on it I was half tempted to talk supras w/ the MKIV guy, but i was stereotyping him and assuming he was an elitist prick like the majority of MKIV guys... sorry for pre-judging.

anyhow, we roll out like 25 deep, get on I-275 and head down to a Vacant stretch of Freeway... we all pull off on the left and right shoulders under one bridge. the Nova and Viper pull up on the other side of the hiway under the bridge in the distance, about a 1/4 mile away. Then, all you hear is a screaming V8 thru Open headers as the Nova heats up his DOT slicks, and then the tire squealing and engine noise dies down. then a few seconds later, you hear 2 engines going full out and 1 set of tires screaming for traction... im betting it was the Viper. they come flying towards us full tilt and were all lined up on the other side of the concrete divider under the "finish line" bridge and the Viper flys by first... and about 3 car lengths later, the Nova at WOT... EXCELLENT RACE!!!!!!!

then, about a minute later, the gray/silver MKIV supra is spoolin up and blowing off and flying towards us... and shortly after, is a Copper... Uh oh. everyone is a little stunned and i yell out "COPS!!" just to make sure everyone knows what the fuck is goin on... cuz some people looked like they were a little out of it so we all Boned Out of there... me and the dude w/ the Blue Cavvy get right off at the next exit and get back on going back the way we came. he wanted to follow me, but he dipped and i dont know where the fuck he went.

anyhow, after wandering Downtown tampa and encountering a few cops, i made my way back to the Race track where it all started on gandy for some Go-go juice... of the 93 octane flavor. and cruise on over to Tampa and find a Shit load of people at the Shell on the corner... and a ton more action to come! (it was only 2:30am at that point )

 

...about an hour or so later, this fool calls me while im sound asleep in my bed and demands that i appear at shell, luckily i live 5 min from there, so i showed up and got to see some good action too

 

hey i was in the blue cavy.. Passenger..
that race was nuts, we called a friend of us to get the nova up there. we were hanging out with the guy with the viper to help him out and get some races. i so didnt think he had such a fast car to beat the nova by 3..4 cars.
if you know toyotas and even supras you would know those supra guys. btw it was a stock wing... the were the Scranton brothers... you know the guys with the 6sec twin turbo RWD celica.... CRAZY fast car.
im trying to get a race for the viper with a GN..
btw we dipped because we saw a new stang GT and wanted to race him.. had him by 4 cars in the cavyy... pure sleeper .
but my god that was a crazy race..

who knows.. damn fast... me and my friend on the way home were guessing like in the 150's mph.

 

LOL not 150's but by the way he rode out on floyd(granted floyd got caught sleeping off the line) i say high 140ish And the fact that he dead hooked on Kumhos with all that TQ still boggles my mind ( btw i was driving the red truck who was atttempting to help block perspective traffic behind the race)

that was completely off the hook man. never seen anything like that except on the track... most of the street races i see are 13 second cars at the most. I remember the dude on the other end of your fone couldnt belive it, u were like "here, heres a complete stranger, how bad did the Viper beat the nova!" hahaha

Exhaust; wtf was up w/ the cop... did he just sneak up on you guys or what?! all i saw was the Nova, Viper and Supra come our way,, where did you dip to?

oh yea, does the guy w/ the Viper have a place up here or does he just like drive up from miami and crash a hotel and party like a rock star and kick a little ass? whats his deal?

LMK what happens w/ the GN, thats gonna be a good race fo sho.

That was me on the phone listening in disbelief. Floyd's car is straight nasty and my buddies were telling me this Viper was on normal street tires not even some drag radials. I was sitting there telling my buddy with an LS1 who knows Floyd also and we were just laughing saying it is gonna be ugly. But to our surprise he lost. I wish I was there to see this Viper in action. Did it have spray or what was the story? I haven't seen the GN out in a while Mike. If the Viper is out next week, I can prolly get some cars to run him, but than again I don't know of anything fast enough now that I think about it. Either way thumbs up for a badass car!!! -KEVIN-

 

na man no blown LT1 or LS1 hehe.... if that was the case i wouldnt have much fun with it because even that viper wouldnt want any lol. j/k..
its getting the full treatment, i wish i had the money to make it fast like that viper and nova but i like a streetable car i can drive everyday, running only 93 pump gas, and going to road races with it.. i love turning too.
i wont say much but cause right now its not worth talking about, but its gonna be turbo and hopefuly a 11sec car.
what kind or turbo you have on ur MKIII, because your car sounded mean.
and again i cant believe about that night, it was crazy.
