Default Got beaten today! =(

I went out and met up with a bunch of guys off the SBN site for the first time today, just like I was planning on meeting some of you tonight. 14 of us met up, and headed out to hit the twisties. I haven't ridden in a while, and felt a bit awkward on my F4i, but was starting to get the feel of it when we hit the 1st set of curves. First turn was fine, but I miscalculated the second. And guess what, I was busting wide, the front hit gravel, and I pulled the worst rookie mistake ever, I hit the front brakes. The bike stood straight up, and smacked right into a sign. I went flying over the handle bars head first into the asphalt, and slid until I hit the curb. Luckily, the leathers took all the damage. I got up without a scratch or bruise, except to my ego. My bike had shot straight into the creek below, and was fully submerged.

Anyway, long story short. I beat myself this time. I was lucky to be with a bunch of great guys who helped me fish the bike out, and trailer it over to one of their buddy's shop. Minimal damage, just cosmetics.

But depending on how my body feels later after all the adrenalin has worn off, I will decide on making it to Setser's tonight! Hope to see y'all there. Otherwise, have fun!

Well, there are two types of bikers... those who have gone down, and those who will go down! You got yours out of the way early, that's all!
I've gone down, Bruce has gone down, and oodles of the guys that we ride with from SBN have been down... some of them numerous times. It's all part of the game. Glad your OK, and it was good to meet you and your wife!

Dan it was good to meet you Saturday... when you said you went down on the bike I wasn't thinking it was THAT bad! Whoa!

Glad everything was cool, and kudos for still coming out Saturday - I think I would have been home with a beer! LOL!
