Default Civic vs.Porsche 911 Carrea 4

The stop light at the bayside brigde and causeway heading south, I stop next to this guy playing his techno music. It was a black 911 carrera 4 convertible. This guy thought he was the shit. He heard me rev him at the red stop light. When the light turned green we got on it. Side by side on the turn and I almost lost the back end. With my driving skills I recover. Its all a straight away from here. Side by Side almost the whole time I start to gain on him pretty easy. We kept going heading South on the bayside bridge and I start to pass him up. He relizes that he is going to loose so he lets off the gas slows down and I give him a thumbs up. And he," yells thats fast!", I say thanks and continue to drive.

On the way back home from the library and racing this guy in his Porsche I come against this white riced out hatchback same year as mine. This kid revs me and I try not to crack a grin since my window is down. The car just didn't sound right. haha. just worst thing you could want to hear. He has a hot girl in the back and I ask the kid is that stock? He said yeah its just a 1.5. I was curious to why the girl is in the back and the guy is up front. I think they were gay. Holding hands or somthing. O well fuck him and didnt waste my time. Just took off once to make them stop laughing at my car. Its so ugly I know. He pulls up next to me and he says thats fast! I say thanks. And they shut up and stayed far away from me. hahahaha.

Don't pick on the poor Porsche guys...it really hurts their ego.

Your comment, "I come against this white riced out hatchback same year as mine. This kid revs me and I try not to crack a grin since my window is down. cracked me up. The movie Fast & Furious has gone to a few heads.

Damn, your car must hook like a bitch, to holeshot side by side to an AWD Porsche! I know they're not that fast, but they still launch like a rabbit.

yea stock they come with rear lower tie bar I think. It looks like it when I got mine. Falken anzies most likely do the hooking there pretty broken into and seem to grab alot better that and iam driving around on 24psi. on the fronts.

pretty funny stuff...getting a kill with a clueless p-car owner. Seems the usual line is "my car costs so much less and its so much faster." Well, as has been pointed out before, 911s are not designed for 0-60. Take a 911 (preferably an older one...say an early car with a 3.6 transplant) on a road course and run it hard for 12 hours. Repeat as necessary. Then do the same with a tweaked rice rocket. Oh yeah...probably a bad idea.

I know it's fun to "humiliate" someone in an expensive car, but most 911 owners who are real enthusiasts would just laugh when you pull up and rev it. It's about more than streetlight drag races...at least for some people.

And btw my slow little 911 cost me well under $20K, is 24 years old, and still tight as a drum. Come back in 15 years and tell me how your (insert favorite rice rocket model here) is running...

Don't get me wrong. I follow WRC, have respect for the STi, Evo, etc. But they aren't an aircooled flat 6. For some people that doesn't matter (all they want is a low 1/4 time), and for others it does. To each their own...
