Hearing your story about Corvette owners gave me a smile and a story to share . Twenty years ago I was involved with a group of Street Rodders and we would hold a annual car show , each year it got larger and larger and our last year we had over 600 cars there . There was a $20.00 entry fee and each driver would get a goodie bag filled with items donated by local businesses , two free tickets for a

barbecue lunch , door prizes , and free judging and trophies for classes . The last year I was contacted by a guy who had a local corvette club and asked if he got his members to attend the event would we waver the $ 20.00 entry fee so visitors could see the high level corvettes on display . I said no but they would still be welcome , he then asked if we had a Corvettes only class for judging .

I said not currently but if he brought at least 10 cars we would have one ( I would just need to buy an additional trophy ) . During the day of the show 9 of the club members showed up . We had 3 regulars who drove Corvettes so we had a total of 12 to judge . During the registration several of these drivers were upset that they had to pay the registration fee but agreed if we found them an area where

they could park together and still be on the main walkway . After getting some Rodders to move their cars to help us out , we satisfied them . We had a D. J. who played mostly 50's and 60's music because of the age of the car owners . We received one complaint on the music and two complaints on the lunch . You guesses it the Corvette guys . We used 4 judges who would also judge local " World

Of Wheels " shows , so they were very good . After the Corvettes were judged the leader came up to me furious because there was only one class . He yelled that there needed to be at least 4 different model classes and trophies needed to be give to the top three in each class . Luckily I had ordered extra trophies in case of any disagreements with the judging .

Yes every Corvette there got a trophy . At the end of the day as everyone was leaving and thanking us for the event one of the Corvette guys stopped and took the time to come over and tell me that this was the worst event he had ever attended . There is no way in hell I would do a Corvette car show .

So on Corvette owners: I ran my own tow company for almost 5 yrs. Towed for another company before that for about the same. Well I managed to tow for almost every nice mechanic shop in town and some not so nice. So our local hot rod shop kicked me a lot of business and one day sent me Corvette that was broke down on the side of the road here in town. I dispatch my rollback with my

second best driver who has a tonne of experience. He shows up and the wife is on the side of the road in tears and the husband is holding her and my driver is concerned and checks in and asks whats wrong? Was there an accident, etc.... Hubby: No she just hates that the car has to get torn up. Driver: Why is it getting torn up? This shop is amazing they produce show quality hot rods.

They can handle this basic Corvette. Hubby: No she means from the tow. Driver: Why would it get tore up being towed? Hubby: Well its a Corvette and we know they are the lowest factory cars ever produced, and it cant be towed without tearing up the bumpers. Driver (now smirking): Just hand me the keys and Ill show you how someone lied to you. Proceeds to pull the car up on the bed with sports

traps and uses ramps to extend the bed and strap the cars wheels with the cloth straps, etc... She meets him at the shop and is just ELATED. She tips him $20 and is hugging him and the hubby and the shop owner are talking and the hubby tells the owner the story. Owner looks at hubby and says: Do you think I would have sent some moron after your car? Come on man, look around, I dont do crappy work and I dont deal with people that do.

His PNC Bank story is exactly experiences I've had with them. They have always been useless to me and I will avoid PNC Bank forever. Awful policies and they make you feel like a scumbag for doing any kind of cash transaction.

Cop stories lol. My experiences range from great to WTF. Im always honest. Pull over immediately. If night time, hands where they can see them including out the window. Ive been pulled over for wheelies, speeding, speeding, speeding, etc. Most of my experiences are very cool. The wheelie in front of the cop, he said 'A wheelie, really?' I was 100% legal but had no proof on me. He let me go. Why?

I could've lost him he thanked me for stopping right then. Said keep the rubber on the pavement. .5 miles from my house I was showing off for a buddies brother. Road Ive been on my entire life in a mustang. rounded the interstate overpass bridge at 120 (totally safe) 600$ radar going off Im like no way, saw the cop thats never there - caught me at 95. In a 40. Almost worst ticket ever but. He tried to get me for being DUI - I was not at all but had a keg in the stang. he smelled my kiwi strawberry fruit juice and tried to get me on anything.

I did get a 300$ ticket but cop was pissed. Worst ticket ever, 19, cop said lots of good that radar detector did huh. I wasnt being a jerk said yeah it picked you up a mile back but that dude cut me off. He about took me to jail because I spit on the state of PA - I was rubbing snuff at the time and not spitting offensively. That was my most expensive ticket. I was doing 85 in a 65 on the interstate.

He had a rookie cop w/him and even he was looking like - really a ticket for that, and that, and that? 17yrs old, winter time, I did have some drinks, I pulled out in front of a cop, power slid and went on. I was in a RWD truck up hill in 2wd. I didnt know it was a cop, I was clear to go, but started spinning as expected and saw a car coming. I didnt gun it, but gave some juice and it was a controlled thing.

I didnt want the car coming to have to slow down and risk sliding. Happened to be a cop. Pulled me over, I stopped in a safe spot. He smelled my breath. Asked me how far you got to go? Im like .5 to the right. Asked me, did you know you lost control of your truck? Said, No Sir, I was uphill in 2wd on slippery roads. Pulled out safely but saw a car coming.

I didnt want the car coming to risk skidding so I gave it some gas, got onto the main road, I knew I would drift a bit but I got out in front safely and didnt cause the other driver any danger. He smiled, said get home.

as a citizen of Ohio I can Honestly tell you, State Highway Patrol, some of the chillest people you'll ever meet. every interaction I've had with them it's been a warning or yknow "just be careful". I got a warning for doing 70 in a 55 once no lie and ironically on the same road ALSO got warned for doing 83 in the same 55. The only ticket I've ever gotten was issued by a LOCAL police officer who was running

radar on a highway right after covid. I was passing two semis in the passing lane because I didn't feel like going 60 in a 70 zone and she clocked me at 89 in a 70. I was one mile an hour off of probably losing my vehicle that day. She also oddly enough had no sense of humor and was the most annoying person I've ever interacted with.

I think this is just the Chevy mentality haha. I own a 2009 Cobalt SS and in the community some people not most, but a decent amount of people will say their Balt SS is a one of one model of that year or whatever, but they won't ever say why. Well,

I have a really rare one because I have a 2009 2 door (not rare) Sport Red Tintcoat (2nd rarest color of that year I believe) with G85 package (LSD and seat upgrade) andddd I have the very rare R.P.D. gauge rather than just a boost gauge. Only option I don't have if I'm right is the chevrolet optional sport pedals

If I go to sell my car the other people claiming to have "1 of 1" 's will make mine seem less special and make me look like a douche or idiot

Mines the best corvette, I inherited the car. It's a 2015 stingray with the Z51 package, 7spd manual, the nicer of the 2 interiors, 3 different targa tops (body colored, carbon fiber and a clear one that is slightly tinted) gun metal get with black wheels and red leather interior, bone stock and well maintained, with all the records and receipts. It was a daily driver except the previous owner was only in

town about 10-15 days a month, with a 75 mile round trip commute consisting of 90% back road highways. It has 51K miles on it as of now and the only thing wrong with it is that it's fully loaded. I personally would of only got the Z51 package, 3 tops and the better seats and nothing else. I'm not a fan of heated seats, touch screens and all that fancy luxury stuff weighing the car down

just waiting to break but I figured i'd delete all the fancy electronics as they break. I'm just glad it's a stick and a Z51.

Me and the (ex)wifey were at a yard sale and I happened to be peeking in the window of a vette with a For Sale sign when the guy asked if I'd like to test drive it. "Sure" I said aloud while inside I was thinking "ohmyfuckinggodthisguysgonnaletyoudriveavette! ". He let me romp it a mile down a twisty road then back and actually encouraged me to go faster and faster to the point I chickened out...

When we got back our wives were there, arms crossed, stern looking both shaking their heads and the guy turns to me and asked if I was gonna buy the car so I apologized for misleading him to take the test drive but he just shrugged it off and told me that he LOVED that car but his wife was making him get rid of it. Since he was supposed to be selling the car his wife wont let him drive it and so the

only way he can enjoy his beloved vette is by riding along with the people test driving it! I wonder if he ever did actually get rid of that car...
