Yep the marines has like 1 battalion of M1s. I am on the same side as you former Jarheads I just like to pull your chains. But I also remember back in 91 a BDE CBT from 2AD Being cross attached to a MAU because the Marines like I said are light infantry that rides on boats. But I got nothing but love for you Devil Dogs. If you don't kick the door open and hold the beach head secure the hevies never get landed to close with and destroy the enemy. But like Dino said I mainly say that shizit to get a rise out of him, its funny when he turns red and the vien in his forhead starts throbbing like he is about to have a stroke.

second, im not ragin on the army all together, my father as well most of the other men in my family were in the army. i do respect anyone who is willing to serve their country.

im just trying to say that the Marine Corps is by far the most toughest military, has the longest/hardest boot camp/training, the most disipline, the only branch to still let an NCO carry a sword(army fucked it up by using their swords for other means than what they were ment for). who's the first in and the last out? MARINES baby!

in conclusion, the Marines are just plain bad ass. no other brach of the military compares. now, that not to say that other branches dont have and elite force that trains hard, ie navy seals(the best), green b's in the army, or some special ops force. do some research between the two branches and then comment.

army are cool, i dont disrespect any of the army. most of them like your dad and mine were drafted and didnt have a choice. if you were a Marine you would understand that the army's training for combat is very minimal compared to the Corps. thankyou

 

gun, Marine Corps has changed alot since you been in. i was actually attached to 2nd tank battalion at Camp lejuene for 4 months for part of a support group. we have more than one tank battalion now. we even have our very own tank range now too. its huge as fuck and operated by civilians, all electric targets and shit. we no longer have to go to fort brag to fire our tanks.
light infantry? shit, that the badest damn infantry you ever saw. but i guess if i was in the army i would brag about the army too. but im not a sissy, so i joined the Marines

I do hold the Marines in very high regard though when making a comparison. I saw the other branches as a bit spoiled. We had to fix helos with a screwdriver and a hammer...and the were hand me downs from the Air Farce. They actually had tools to use on their aircraft.
