Roasted LT1
it was at sunshine, i was hoping to line up against this turbocharged blue civic that could supposedly roll 7's, but no luck i had to line up against a 69' Stingrey with a 93 LT1, i thought i was roasted for sure, but i put down a 1.833 launch and pulled him hard 1st gear and he stayed at my rear bumper for 2nd and 3rd, guy was pretty nice, i think he was suprised a 4cyl outran his $25k car...then again i raced an s2000 that night that was spraying a 75shot and he only ran a 8.96...thats gotta be the slowest $33k sports car i have seen..his excuse was he broke his axles a week earlier on street tires with a 1.6 second launch. but i think the stingrey was a better kill just because im gettin a little more respect from the V8 guys out there.

yo, I remember seeing you during those races.. nice! That honda was full of BS, there was also a Civic HB Out there claiming he ran 9.1 and he ran like a 10.6 at around 9:30 P.M. Me and 2 buddies were racing Jeff's 91 Explorer, and we beat a Primered Grey Camaro that was keeping to himself all night trying to act like a bad ass.. That little Doom Buggy out there did break his axles.. which sucked.

sadly to report, my car was totally off game at 1320, i totally hate that instant green bullshit and the lines, i will not go back again, i ran like 2 N/T runs and then my quickest timed one was 14.7...there is no way in hell that was right, but then again i was detonating like a bitch, my manifold was literally glowing for 10 minutes when i got home, that s2000 that i beat at sunshine of course beat me tonight, still spraying... summer times a coming, and my turbo doesnt like that idea at all...

I know how you feel man.
When I went to BMP I lined up a couple times against this kid in a late 60s big block chevelle.
I also thought I would be toast but I walked him both times.
My guess was the chevelle was either too old or the kid couldn't drive it.
You would think that even an old big block chevelle on modern rubber could beat a 14 second car.

could the whole big engines = big power be a stereotype, like the whole 4 cyl's are slow stereotype? quite possibly? (now V8 guys, dont get mad, i know there are a good deal of you on the board and elsewhere that could easily walk me)

There is an "old school v8" stereotype as you say. I think it comes from the "musclecar era". There were plenty of Big block musclecars that arent up to todays standard of performance.

Speed is speed. Don't care if it is made by a 4,6,8,10 or 12 cylinder. Have torque, horsepower and a respecatable power to weight ratio, don't miss a shift and you got speed.
Regarding the feeling of beating someone, you kust KNOW is gonna pull ya hard, and then only seeing them in the mirror is an awsome feeling. I'll never forget my 2nd trip to BMP, and I was lined up with a Cobra, and it just had that awsome big cam exhaust, I was dead meat. He pulled me out of the hole, but that is when I discovered that if they are only a couple car lengths ahead at 3rd gear....:o , SEE YA. What a rush.
Good kills man.
