Sportin' the two week old Brand new SVT Focus....I did a U-turn and this black newer S-10 comes around me from behind on the throttle. I wasn't even racing but I gunned it and tried to catch him anyway. I didn't. I pulled along side the truck at a red light. Noticed, big fat tires and what appeared to be Syclone or Typhoon wheels. It looked pretty stock, I think it was one of those X-treme S-10's. Anyway, I'm thinking, "the SVT' Focus is no drag car, only pulling 15.7's but its worth a shot I can beat a stock truck"...light turns green and I nail it. Great launch! Pulled on the S-10 pretty good at first. Then I go to shift into second...like a dumbass, I hit the nuetral gate and my hand slips off the shifter!!! Car dives down, tach shoots up. I get into second and try to recover my dignity to find the S-10 ahead of me already. Befor I can even attempt to catch him, he's flashing brakes at me. We were only up to maybe 50mph or so. Damn...next light ahead. I pull along side of him. I look over and he's got his girlfriend riding shotgun. She looked less than amused by our shananagins. Off the green we go, hes a bit ahead of me...I then realize I'm in a merge lane. And, cars ahead are pulling out from a TacoBell into my lane. I back off, switch lanes, flash brites and call it done. I got punked. Worse yet...by a truck and I still had the temp tag on the car. So now I look really dumb. Oh well gotta take the losses with the wins.

The truck seemed pretty fast. I think had I not sucked I might have had a better chance. It could have been one of those Vortec supercharged 4.3 liter trucks. Certainly wasn't a Cyclone...it would have been more of an embarassment. Oh well...who cares...if we encountered twisties I would have spanked that S-10 silly, but that's what loosers always say right? Haha.

 

Did the truck have dark tinted windows and did it make a lous whistling sound?

Also did the girlfriend have short dark hair? If its the guy I'm thinking he has a procharger on it.

Yeah, the windows were dark....it was night. But it looked like the girl had bleach blond hair, from what I could tell.
Honestly, I didn't get a good listen to the truck. I was rockin' out. Had the system crankin' at the time.
I know there were Vortec 4.3 liter S-10s made...I don't know for sure if they were the same vortec as in Vortec supercharger. Might have been a name GM called the powerplant, but I do know they were supposed to be quite quick.
I'd imagine, that if I had not missed second like a tard, the outcome could have been in my favor. Guess I will never know. It was a badass truck.
