Hybrid LT1 conflicts with Supercharged Stroker Stang
Im cruising down bruce b downs when I hear a cackle then a psssshhhttt and a rumbling as a 5.0 mustang pulls out ahead of me. Im like oh yeah... this will be interesting. So I pull back up to him and listen.. Ok he's got at least exhaust, cam, and a supercharger. Then I think to myself... Well I got exhaust, cam, and more cubes, plus other little power adder mods.
Whats this I see up ahead? A red light? Even though my 60 ft time sucks ass I was still ready to lite em up. When the light turned green I took off semi quick because I wasnt sure if he wanted to play... he didnt bite... Understandable since we were on Bruce B downs and cops are everywhere.. (Valentine had my back and no cops were out shooting).
So now im heart broken... Not to often to I have a chance to get my ass wupped
Well I decided that this mustang needed alittle motivation. So when he's driving next to me doing about 55mph, I Rev to my powerband drop the the clutch in 2nd and squeel the tires as I jump out ahead several car lengths. I backed off immediately and continued doing the speed limit. To my satisfaction the motivation worked.
He comes back up and ready to play....
I take a deep breath, wipe my sweating palms off on my jeans, and brace the shifter ready for a power shift to second....... the pressure mounts......... and all in the just a few seconds - I see his car begin to coast.... I anticipate his attack and bring the hybrid LT1 into her power band.... as my revs rise his car starts pulling, my fist covers the shifter knob which is now slammed into second.... His stang is sucking in the air like a hoover vacuum cleaner, his engine pulls into its powerband, the car torques its self towards my lane and the tires start loosing grip as they sway to the left.... the Z counter maneuvers with torquing to the right as her rear end sways to the left.
The Z sees that her opponent with all its power could not commit itself to traction and proceeds to pull on the supercharged stroker stang as it spins and lets off.
I singled the guy to pull over. We talked for a while. I found out his car was stroked to a 347, had a supercharger and had nitrous hook ups but no nitrous. He was knowledgable about cars and showed me what all he's done to his stang.
His car would kick my ass in the 1/4 mile but its tricky to drive because of the steep gears coupled with a supercharged stroker. He didnt bring his car into the power band off the start because the stock tranny doesnt take well to 450hp and torque. Plus the gears and boost would be bad. He was only running 5 lbs of boost though so that explains the 450hp. Props to a nice mustang with some serious ballz.

I was expecting him to smoke me like a blunt but not the case. If we would have had more room to run he would have eventually hooked and blew by me. His car sounded sick (in a good way).
