Went up to Wisconsin a few days ago to visit my parents and to fix up my moms z28. As part of the check up I decided to see how she still ran. I cruised up to Layton Ave (highway 100) where everyone street races. I had a lot of run ins with cars that were not race worthy. I didnt race them but i gave the car enough gas to where even with them flooring theres they couldnt get by.
THere was this riced out green neon that pulled up next to me and I hear this "psshhht". I wasnt sure if i heard the turbo because my music was cranked.. I ask the guy if he had a turbo and he said it did. I was like "I dont think that turbo is goign to be enough to beat this Z" He dropped back a 1/2 a car length and guns it. As soon as I could i floored it but it was too late. He pulled past me. His passneger is waving bye bye to me. I stopped his pull at 60mph and began pulling him in. I pulled up next to his rear bumper before we both had to shut down because of a red light. He whips over into the left turn lane. I wanted to see if he wanted to go from a stop or even at the same time from a roll but they rowed up the window and wouldnt talk to me. Somered necks in the back of a pick up truck start yelling at the guy in the neon to race me again. I was impressed that the neon held off my moms car.

Isn't that a little bit cocky to assume a car didn't have enough? I mean it's cool to think it, but to say it in their face is kinda cocky. True, it's riced out, and most ricers are slow. You could have just waited till after you kicked his ass, and then laugh at his riced car.

Also, I don't think it was a fair race, he kind of cheated with the running start.

Yeah it was kinda of cocky but realistic too. Even though he got the jump he still won.. its street racing... thats the fun of it you know. I always let the cars that are thought of to be slower have the jump... other wise i feel like a bully. I really wish i had my z28 there though... it'd have been a much different kill story
