i see a mustang on dale mabry, what i thought was just a gt. so i speeds up to get a little look see and i see hes tryin to change lanes to get over to turn left at bearss so i kinda go fast enuff so that he cant make it over in time and he ends up next to me at the light(YES).but then i look over and i see the dreaded cobra decal, and im like FUCK.this is not a new cobra however(thank god!!)i guess 95 and up it was older, i think its the slowest of all the cobras.

well he was kinda lookin at me funny when i said he would "prob" get me on the light cuz i cant launch for shit. he kinda laughed and was like whatever. he rev'd a little, i rev'd back. and then it went green, he jumped about 1/2 car on me, then i reeled him in and put about 1 1/2 to 2 cars on him, i was prob goin 80 or so when we shut down due to traffic.
I WAS STOKED!! i finnaly got a decent launch and was able to hold my own from a start with a v8.

later on after i went to a friends house to blaze, i was crusin DM and saw a older supra, the boxy style, it was white and had a chrome muffler.
i hit vtec once while i was next to him to let him know i was game.
he didnt go for a while though, so i finally see him gaining speed behind me and i knew he was ready to play, he got the jump cuz he was coming from behind, but i down shifted to 3rd and gunned it and he was only able to maintain the little jump he got on me, which was about 1 1/2 cars.
i was like alright, this supra has balls, i want to get a better run at this guy. so im behind him crusin, we dodge a few cars and get an opening, he hears me go into vtec and then he guns it, i floor it and follow him into the other lane and we just ride to about 130 with me all the way on his tail.
i knew i could do better if we matched speeds 1st. we were dead fuckin even. we exchanged thumbs up and then he u turned.

all in all a good night once again for the hatch

 

did i mention it was a turbo supra!!
those old ones can be fast to right?

 

The Cobra that you raced is actually an automatic GT with Cobra badges :thumbdown: But I got a "real" Cobra that you can race and it's all stock

 

so just by me sayin i raced a mustang, u automaticlally know its a auto gt with cobra badges? i never even said what color it is.or are u fuckin around?

 

ford didnt bullshit with the 99 and up mustang cobras
96-98 are weak.

 

actually the 99 model was the one with the the HP loss problems, the one that was rated at 320 but only put 290 down

or where they rated at 320 to the wheels?
i read some actually only put out 250hp

 

Ya, those are the slowest cobras. Do your research before you ASSUME things please. Careful, I cruise DM sometimes. I may not put car lengths on people................but I do put bus lenghts on them!

 

any hooked up cobra is gunna be fast, im just sayin that for what its supposed to be it is not that fast for a stock v8 that was supposed to hang with the SS

 

Whats its supposed to be is an open track car, not a 1/4 mile car. It was never meant to compete in the 1/4 mile with the SS. Cobra's simply don't have the torque needed down low to compete with the SS 1/4 mile wise. Ford blessed us with a massive 281 cid. V8 and 3.27 gears stock....very small displacement by V8 standards. I think Ford got the 03 Cobra right though
