So im sitting in a parking lot in Tampa chillin with my buddy who owns the GTI that beat me by 2 cars, and we're talking cars and im showing off my new exhaust. Somewhere in the back corner of the lot we hear a third car rev.... neither of us new who or what it was, but the mystery car pulled out as we were leaving to head to the slab. Turned out to be a teg with one of those cute honda stickers. You know, the ones that say " my VTAK goes BBBWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH". So i line up with the teg and we hit it from 2nd. He pulls out about two cars until i get to the top of 2nd. I start reeling him in, hit third hes about half a car, top of third and we're door to door. We make eye contact and smile when we realize whos in the other car . Hit 4th and i start pulling away. we shut own right after i start pulling out ( he quit chasing). We roll the next few blocks catching up and talking about mods. Turns out he had an Intake, Header, 3inch exhaust, and a chip. It was a quick lil car, and a good first run with the new exhaust. cant wait to run him again when he gets the rest of his parts installed

 

Is your car black with chrome exhaust tips?

 

no. but the front rims are black and the rear are chrome.

Anyone have a similar setup to the TEG? or knowledge of what these cars put down power wise or 1/4mile times?

Kinda currious as to where im at now (havent been on the dyno yet) with the new setup...

 

low 15 high 14 is what it probably runs at somewhere close to 150 whp-ish depending on the tune on the "chip."

 

weren't you also told that it was a gsr ?

 

lol i was told several things. Id rather not attempt explaining what i was told but it ranged from everywhere between a single cam to a GSR, and i was told 138 to 178 for the power (multiple people). So after dynoing and seeing where im actually at with the new setup... im not sure what to believe, but since i won i guess it doesnt really matter much?

 

how does it feel to "race" cars that are easily beat by soccer moms minivans, and lose?

I have a 23 year old car thats essentially Stock with exhaust, that 90% of mechanic shops wont touch cuz it doesnt have pistons in it. Ask me how it feels to outrun cars that people think are fast, that have 10 to 15 years newer technology than I, with more mods than I do.

Feels pretty damn good to win any race when youve done all the work yourself. It may be slow, and it is, but its a work in progress and im building it all myself.
